How it started...
The reason behind starting my own skincare business is because of my son who suffered from really bad eczema on his skin. I tried every possible thing I could to give him relief and eliminate his discomfort but nothing worked. At doctor visits I would get advice such as soaking him in Clorox, putting him to sleep in damp clothing and it all just sounded bizarre to me. I took it upon my self to take matters into my own hands. Therefore, day and night I would research on different ways to naturally heal and relieve skin conditions beginning first with my sons eczema. I searched around to find the purest ingredients to make something that would soothe him right away. One day, as I was applying my handmade body butter onto his skin and he looked at me and said "Mommy you should sell this stuff to other people so you can heal them too". And so Skin of Silk began. Thanks to my little inspiration I am working to send some healing from my hands to your skin.
